Our WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) courses offer everyone the chance to earn an internationally recognised qualification in wine with us here at the Gordon Ramsay Academy.

In the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines, you will embark on an exciting journey to become confident in the world of wine. This course is taught by Gordon Ramsay Restaurant sommeliers and wine experts, sharing their incredible knowledge and experience alongside the WSET course material.

First, you will master the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT), which teaches you how to taste and describe wine with professional accuracy.

Next, it will dive into how environmental factors, grape-growing techniques, wine-making processes, and maturation impact the style and quality of wines.

The course focuses on eight key grape varieties, exploring how they express themselves in various regions. Beyond that, it will explore 22 regionally important grape varieties and how wine styles differ across 70 geographical indications (GIs). You will also cover sparkling wines, fortified wines, and how production techniques shape these styles.

During the course you will taste 38 wines from around the world. The course includes 18 hours of expert-led tuition, giving you in-depth guidance, plus 14 hours of home study to dive deeper into the material at your own pace.

At the end of the course, there is a 60-minute multiple-choice exam designed to test your understanding and set you on the path to becoming a confident wine enthusiast. All those who pass will receive an official certificate and a WSET lapel pin.
